The Off-Season Zion Canyon Shuttle Schedule

Riding the Zion Canyon Shuttle is a big part of most visits to the park. The shuttle ferries guests to many of the park’s most popular attractions. For most of the year, guests of our luxury camp in Zion hoping to shop for souvenirs or grab lunch at the Zion Lodge, hike the Riverside Walk or Angels Landing, or even just enjoy a ride through the Lower Canyon will have to ride the shuttle in order to do so.

The Zion Canyon Shuttle and Springdale Shuttle lines were created to help reduce traffic and overcrowding in the Lower Canyon. This is very important during the summer months when weekends and holidays can bring large numbers of daily guests to Zion.

But if you’ve ever had the chance to visit our luxury camp in Zion outside of the summer, you know that crowds are not a guarantee in the park. Because of this, when crowds in the park begin to thin at the end of summer, the Zion Canyon and Springdale Shuttles reduce their operating hours, and eventually cease operations altogether.

If you’re planning a stay in a Zion cabin or glamping tent at Zion Wildflower Resort from fall through early spring, you’ll need to know the shuttles’ operating schedules this time of year. 

The Zion Canyon Shuttle Fall Schedule

The summer season comes to an end in September each year. This marks the end of the busiest season in Zion. In mid-September each year, the Zion Canyon Shuttle and Springdale Shuttle begin to reduce their daily operating hours to adjust for fewer guests entering the park. 

In 2023, the change in schedule started on September 18 and lasts until November 4. During this time, the first shuttle will leave the Zion Canyon Visitor Center (Stop #1), at 7 a.m., and the last shuttle will leave the Visitor Center at 5 p.m. The final shuttle out of the canyon will depart from the Temple of Sinawava (Stop #9) at 7:15 p.m.

The schedule will be changed again on November 5. At this time, the first shuttle will still leave the Zion Canyon Visitor Center (Stop #1) at 7 a.m. daily. The last shuttle will leave from the Visitor Center at 4 p.m. daily at this time. The last shuttle will start making its way out of the canyon from the Temple of Sinawava (Stop #9) at 6:15 p.m. This schedule will last until November 26.

The Springdale Canyon Shuttle Fall Schedule

The Springdale Canyon Shuttle connects guests of Angels Landing hotels and other accommodations with parking in Springdale. When you depart our luxury camp in Zion, you’ll drive a short way to the town of Springdale. 

If you arrive early enough in the day or if the day isn’t a busy one, you may be able to park just inside the entrance to Zion and hop on the Zion Canyon Shuttle there. But if this parking lot is full, you can park in public parking in Springdale. Then, you’ll ride the Springdale Shuttle to the entrance to the park. You can also use this shuttle to visit stores, restaurants, art galleries and more throughout the town.

Like the Zion Canyon Shuttle, the Springdale Shuttle reduces its operating hours each fall. From September 18 to November 4, the first shuttle leaves from the last stop, at the Majestic View Lodge (Stop #9) at 8 a.m. The last shuttle of the day departs from the Zion Canyon Village (Stop #1) at 7 p.m. 

From November 5 to November 26, the first shuttle will depart from the Majestic View Lodge (Stop #9) at 8 a.m. The last shuttle will leave the Zion Canyon Village (Stop #1) at 6 p.m.

The Zion Canyon Shuttle and Springdale Shuttle Cease Operations

After November 26, both the Zion Canyon Shuttle and the Springdale Shuttle cease daily operations for the winter season. During this time, visitors can drive their personal vehicles into Zion’s Lower Canyon, and park in designated lots. 

The shuttles are not in operation throughout the winter season, with the exception of a period around the December holidays. In 2023, both shuttles will operate from December 22 to December 31. 

The first shuttle of the Zion Canyon line will depart from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center (Stop #1) at 8 a.m. and the last shuttle will leave the Visitor Center at 3 p.m. The last shuttle out of the canyon will leave from the Temple of Sinawava (Stop #9) at 5:45 p.m.

The first Springdale Shuttle will leave from the last stop at Majestic View Lodge (Stop #9) at 8 a.m. The last shuttle will leave from the Zion Canyon Village (Stop #1) at 5:30 p.m.
